Insomniac talks space gameplay for Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

August 29th, 2009 No comments

Looking forward to Ratchet & Clank’s next big adventure? Insomniac Games takes us through one of the new gameplay features that you’re gonna see in Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time.

While you’re not too busy taking on the scum of space, you can tune in to your Space Radio for some nutty commercials, movie trailers, and DJ babble. On a more serious note, you better explore as many spherical moons as you can to get your hands on more Zoni, which you will use to upgrade your ship. You’ll need those to take on the super boss on replay mode. This one’s a special boss that you’ll have to get past if you want the last trophy.

Will Sony ‘overcook’ the PS4?

August 27th, 2009 No comments

Overcooked PS3

Upon reading more about the new improved slim PS3 it became apparent to us that Sony appear to have “overcooked” the PS3. When the PS3 was released it had full backwards compatibility, 4 USB Ports, Linux Capabilities, fancy touch sensitive on/off and eject buttons (clutching at straws here with that one), a 60GB HDD and a Card Reader. This has steadily all been removed. So, the PS3 price has dropped which is great news, but so has the feature list, and quite extensively. Sure the Slim PS3 HDD is 120GB, but it did temporarily drop to 40GB, which sucked. I don’t seem to remember any features being dropped from either the PS1 or PS2, even with the slim-line models they released.

Don’t think I am in any … Read the whole story on PS4 Talk

Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao now on XBLA, landing on PSN tomorrow

August 26th, 2009 No comments

Head out to your preferred online gaming services now and catch the Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao from Blitz arcade and Namco Bandai. It’s inspired by the Kung-Fu movie-style of the 70s, and you don’t even have to be the drunken master to enjoy it.

The game follows the story of the legendary hero Han Tao as he goes across China to fight battles in order to retrieve the Star of Destiny stolen by the Evil Overlord. Good thing for him he’s well-armed with intense combos, slick counter-moves and the skill to wield his deadly weapons, plus mystical Zen attacks.

Lost Planet 2 – behind the closed doors at GamesCom 2009

August 25th, 2009 No comments

You gotta love it when you’ve got access to one of those “Behind Closed Doors” bits in any event. Today’s vid for Lost Planet 2(PC, PS3, Xbox 360) carries that distinction. But when a vid’s all over the internet, it really isn’t so closed-doors anymore. It kinda feels more like a dev diary now, as Capcom’s Chris Kramer answers your Lost Planet 2 cravings.

This one runs on the PS3, showing a demo of the co-op aspect of the game, taking down a huge salamander as you pepper the big guy with ammo and explosives. You’ll need to get that teamwork going, because as Kramer pointed out – the big guy can …Read the whole story on QJ.net

Sony motion controller - Image 1

With Microsoft’s Natal tech slated for release next year Sony is definitely not resting on its laurels when it comes to the motion controller arena, and 2010 is quickly shaping up to be the year the two companies go head to head with their respective motion controllers.

Sony Computer Entertainment big boss Kaz Hirai recently told Times Online that their own motion-controlled “wand” will also be out by next year. He even does Microsoft one better by actually setting a tighter release window.

We are slating [the motion controller] for spring of next year. One of the things is that we just don’t want to put out the controller. We need a great …Read the whole story on QJ.net
